Investment Insight is an investment educational podcast where we discuss a broad range of topics related to estate planning, portfolio allocation, retirement, pensions, 401k’s, economic topics, and many other money related matters. Meet our Hosts

Brent McCay, Host

Brent has been actively managing investments for his clients since 2007 and for himself since the age of 12 years old; buying his first equity investment at that time. Brent currently holds series 7, 66, 24 licenses, as well as the Tennessee Insurance Licenses and is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist. Brent is an entrepreneur, starting McCay Wealth Advisory in 2011 and Brent’s Professional Lawn Service at the age of 12 (a company that started with one lawn and grew to a business with a revenue run rate of $120,000 at the age of 17). Brent is member of the McMinnville - Warren County Industrial Development Board, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pepperdine University in Business Administration, is active with Pepperdine Waves Alumni Association, and serves as a student mentor for the university. Brent also gained international business experience when working in Tokyo, Japan for Hitachi Ubiquitous Division, and has studied abroad in Heidelberg Germany in 2004. Brent is the great, great, great, great grandson of William “Rock” Martin (one of the founders of Rock Island), and his family has been active in the Middle Tennessee Area since the 1790’s. Brent, and his wife, Suzy, have seven precious children and Brent enjoys coaching them on the soccer field and basketball court. Their family enjoys traveling and attending church together.

Hayden Proffitt, Co-Host

Hayden grew up in Manchester, Tennessee and attended Coffee County Central High School (Class of 2016). From there, Hayden attended Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN where he was an active team member of the Men’s Golf Team. While at Freed-Hardeman University, Hayden completed both his Bachelors in Business Administration while majoring in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration. Hayden is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Tennessee. Additionally, Hayden has successfully passed the Series 65 exam. After graduation from Freed-Hardeman University, Hayden worked as a Audit Staff Accountant at LBMC, P.C. in Brentwood, TN. Subsequent to LBMC, Hayden worked as a Senior Internal Auditor on the Revenue Cycle team at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) in Nashville, TN. Hayden is an active member at the Concord Road Church of Christ in Brentwood, Tennessee. Outside of work, Hayden enjoys golfing, playing guitar, or waterfowl hunting. Hayden is a proud member of the President’s council at Freed-Hardeman University.
